■あらすじ
鎧塚みぞれ 高校3年生 オーボエ担当。
傘木希美 高校3年生 フルート担当。
希美と過ごす毎日が幸せなみぞれと、一度退部をしたが再び戻ってきた希美。
中学時代、ひとりぼっちだったみぞれに希美が声を掛けたときから、みぞれにとって希美は世界そのものだった。
みぞれは、いつかまた希美が自分の前から消えてしまうのではないか、という不安を拭えずにいた。
そして、二人で出る最後のコンクール。
自由曲は「リズと青い鳥」。
童話をもとに作られたこの曲にはオーボエとフルートが掛け合うソロがあった。
「物語はハッピーエンドがいいよ」
屈託なくそう話す希美と、いつか別れがくることを恐れ続けるみぞれ。
――ずっとずっと、そばにいて――
童話の物語に自分たちを重ねながら、日々を過ごしていく二人。
みぞれがリズで、希美が青い鳥。
でも……。
どこか噛み合わない歯車は、噛み合う一瞬を求め、まわり続ける。

Does a tablet makes the job faster or it’s still the same? There are some $22 dollar tablet XP-Pen StarG430S, it might help to make it faster. 8192 Pressure Levels! Could be cheaper than that mouse.

Using A MOUSE
Mouse is fine for this type of work. She’s is just clicking proper color, adjusting parameters in the program and clicking to flood an area. It’s different than what is required for drawing the frame, which would, of course, require a tablet for efficiency.

Yeah 😀 To each their own! I watched two seasons of Hibike! just as a preparation for Liz to Aoi Tori. And that is just my preference but i enjoyed Liz and the Blue Bird way more than Hibike! (I guess the main character weren’t that interesting For Me. In fact once they introduced Mizore and Nozomi in Season 2 i was really enjoying the show. Suffice it to say that they are my favs (Mizore Yoroizuka is my fav) out all Hibike! series) Also! Minako Kotobuki VA of Tsumugi Kotobuki from K-On! is in Hibike! (Asuka-senpai? i think) So there’s that 😀 (My Absolute Favorite show! I love K-On!)
Ilja Korhonen Simpler doesn’t mean worse. Sometimes you just gotta enjoy the simple things (just keep that in mind because I am a bean and don’t want to fight. I just wanna love) But as a person who loves loads of details, I enjoyed Sound a lot for every small thing. Hyouka is still my ultimate favourite though.
But I will agree with you that Yamada-san is the best.
Oh that “shining effect” in Hibike! 😀 i hated it( I guess i just REALLY like Liz to Aoi Tori’s let’s say “simplicity” and The Movie feels very Watercolory at times, which i LOVE. Also as i mentioned Character Designs are IMO, Superior and i enjoyed Liz to Aoi Tori WAY More than Hibike (Combination of Character Designs, (AMAZING) Music and characters themselfs Mizore and Nozomi (i liked ‘em more than the cast of Hibike!) and the fact that Naoko Yamada is in the Director Chair :D) I just got triggered when i saw “Simpler version of Sounds!” So that was my lil rant. I recommend Liz to Aoi Tori to anyone, it’s really good!
Ilja Korhonen ‘Simpler’ as in the art style and colouring. You can see the body figures are easier to draw and that they don’t put as much detail as in Sound , i.e the colour of the eyes (remember how Kumiko and Reyna had red, green flakes in their eyes instead of being a one-off colour of brown and purple) the additional details in the hair like the shining effect, the streaks of highlights and the shaping.
“simpler”? Liz to Aoi Tori looks better than Hibike! (S1 and S2) What do you mean simpler? I actually prefer Character Designs in Liz to Aoi Tori 😀 And i think this looks a hell of a lot better than Hibike! Euphonium (This IS a movie so that’s to be expected)
This video motivates me to always learn new things and give my best about animations! 😊

For the English speakers, this is another behind-the-scenes video of Liz and the Bluebird, focusing on the Digital Painting stage.
Translation of text (not final, please fix if necessary):
0:08 – Colouring Mizore
0:27 – Because there’s a lot of white colors, we used deep colours (such as orange or purple) to prevent any sort of mistakes.
0:53 – Colouring Nozomi
0:58 – Because the hair colour is similar to the line colour, we temporarily added a visually different colour (in this case, orange). We then replace it with the original colours.

Radi Bear – Trust me it isn’t. The frame rate per episode is still the same as it is today. Just putting lighting and shadow effects in the old days have to be done by bipack in-camera and using masking tape and cutter. I’ve watched most Kyoani’s work and I can tell all are done hand-drawn frame by frame animation(I think most of the work are done in Korea and China, I haven’t heard them sub-contracting in my country). Most of the studio that uses Flash or Toonboom vector are American studios. I’ve been in the bussiness since the 90’s and I’ve handled the Pencilman system by Retas pro for Toei animation long ago, all movements are done hand-drawn on paper then redrawn by hand again on screen thru Wacom Cinteq. (Most western animation goes by 2 frames per drawing, Japanese usually are 3-4 frames per drawing, an ave of 10 drawings per second. A single episode is done from start to finish in 3-4 weeks by one group with 3 other group working simultanious.) Lastly, western studios pay rates are better than Japanese studio.
+insipisTV Yeah, that’s true. But animation back then was also much simpler. I would think that they have at least some vector animation component to speed things up.
Radi Bear of course for the animation and they have to do this every singel frame.
Radi Bear – It’s for the animation. All drawings are in every frame are done that way. If you think this sucks just imagine the old days when we use celluloid and real ink and paint.
