As a girl euphonium player (at least throughout high school) this is AMAZING to see get made! Not only is the euphonium a lesser known instrument but in my experience, very few girls play it. In 4 years of being in the biggest high school marching band in the US, there was only ever 2 of us at a time!

So cute, I’m super excited. Those calling it an ‘epic fail’ need to remember different types of animes are aimed at different viewers. This is the type of anime I like. Cute characters with a cute plot. If that’s not your thing then fine, but don’t call it a ‘bad anime’. That’s childish.
Seems like a jazzy band anime! super happy if it is. Becuase the music will be incredible.

@Steve Burstall Honestly, it sounds like a really cute plot, but I like that kind of thing! Knowing Kyoani they can take plots and make them cute and serious at the same time. I mean, I’m sure by my icon you can see I’m not a stranger to Free! That plot had some pretty serious moments, but still managed to keep it’s cute feel (for the most part) I’m really excited. I’ve never watched K-on, so whether it’s different or not doesn’t really…wave me either way haha.
I don’t think it’s a cute plot. Seems pretty serious to me. A highly award winning school band that didn’t do well for years because of a poor sponsor then they get a new on who is very serious about getting back to it’s winning ways. Way different than K-ON!.

I am actually going to laugh my ass off when they release this because a lot of people like you expect it to be somehow ‘similar’ to K-ON, but if there is something KyoAni never does, its remaking things or even making something slightest in similarity. I remember when Clannad PV came out, everyone thought it would be another Air/Suzumiya Haruhi oh boy where they wrong.
Although Clannad is the most overrated fucking anime of all time in the west. Its got rather mediocre rating in Japan, for good reasons

slice of life is mostly drama less imo.. its seriously just boring day life on the most average slice of life shows i saw.. even acchi kocchi had at least a bit romance in it making the show much better.. without any unique elements or boring daylife plot where people talk about their cake (to aru kagaku) or stuff like this its just… boring. some people may want to see it exactly cause of this, to chill down from their stressful every day life, so i wont judge that. its just not my thing.
and i am not sure if u really mean me with the “spamming on videos and hate them” because i never said i hate it or something like that. i was just trying to say maybe they fail for once now (should have said for me personally maybe because i like the kyoani “art of story handling”)

And I just avoid all anime similar to those in the future, its really simple to be honest with you.
I mean what did you expect from slice of life? Its DRAMA with the DULL parts in, completely opposite of what the American drama has.
‘always the same’ I dunno, I seen quite a portion of slice of life while its J-drama being what J-drama is. The core themes are always the same however the surface is quite different.
Although KyoAni is seriously overrated in the west.
